SkeeterSwitch

Sell something your customers will actually thank you for.

You already see these customers every week. Add a SkeeterSwitch to the truck and you've got a hardware sale, a recurring service tail, and a dashboard that tells you when to stop by with a refill — before they have to call and ask.

Why distributors say yes

Margin you keep.

You buy units at wholesale and sell at MSRP — that margin is yours, on the truck, on day one. The customer signs up for the monthly smart-service through us, so we handle the cloud, the billing, and the 11 p.m. support emails. You stay in the part of the business that pays.

Fleet you can see.

One dashboard, every customer in your book. CO₂ tank levels, run schedules, on/off status, last-seen timestamps. When a tank's getting low, we tell you before the customer notices — so the refill is already on the next day's route sheet. No more “is the bug box actually doing anything?” phone calls.

Onboarding that doesn't waste your truck time.

Pre-pair the unit in your shop in about a minute. On-site, the customer scans a QR code on the box and the trap's live. No app installs, no Wi-Fi password troubleshooting, no “let me get my husband, he knows the router.” You're out the door in five minutes, not forty-five.

How this fits next to what you already sell

vs. yard-fogging contracts

Fogging is a price race. There's always somebody willing to spray a yard cheaper than you. SkeeterSwitch isn't a fogging replacement for every customer — some customers want their yard sprayed and that's their call. But the customers who don't want pyrethroids on their tomato plants are the ones already asking you for something else. This is the something else.

vs. chemical perimeter treatments

Perimeter sprays kill the spiders and dragonflies that already eat mosquitoes for you. Once they're gone, the customer is locked into the spray schedule forever, because the natural predators aren't coming back any time soon. A CO₂ trap doesn't touch the predator population — it pulls host-seeking female mosquitoes out of the air, plus the biting gnats and black flies that hunt the same way, and leaves the rest of the yard alone.

vs. UV bug zappers

Customers buy these, plug them in, and assume they're working. They mostly aren't — UV zappers kill moths, beetles, and non-biting flies, and almost no mosquitoes, because mosquitoes don't navigate by UV. If your customer already owns one, you're not displacing a working product. You're giving them something that targets the actual bug.

Frequently asked questions

What does it cost to become a distributor?

No franchise fee, no annual minimum, no required training package. You buy units at wholesale and sell at MSRP — that's your margin. Your customer pays us monthly for the smart service. You get distributor pricing on refill tanks and replacement service kits. That's the whole deal.

Do my techs need training?

A 30-minute video and a laminated quick-card per truck. Pre-pairing a unit in the shop is point, scan, tap, done. On-site install is “plug it in, customer scans the QR, walk away.” If a tech can set up a smart thermostat, they can install one of these.

What if a customer's unit fails?

Under warranty, we ship a replacement straight to you. You swap it on the next visit and we comp the customer's service month so they're not paying for a dead trap. The dead unit comes back to us; you don't eat the inventory.

Can I see a customer's tank levels remotely?

Yes. That's the whole point of having a fleet view. CO₂ remaining, last-seen time, current schedule, last 30 days of run history. We'll flag a low tank before the customer notices, so you can roll the refill into a route you were already running.

What if I want to switch suppliers later?

The hardware belongs to your customer the day they buy it. The cloud service is the recurring piece. If you decide to stop selling SkeeterSwitch, your existing customers keep their units and their service runs as long as they keep paying us. You're not locked in, and neither are they.

Does it only catch mosquitoes, or other biters too?

It's a mosquito trap first — but because biting gnats (midges) and black flies hunt by the same warm, CO₂-rich breath, they get caught in the same trap incidentally. That's a real value-add to mention on coastal, lakeside, and wooded routes. Just keep it honest: it won't touch fungus gnats, fruit flies, or drain flies, which chase moisture and rot, not a host's breath.
